Description
The virus that causes the disease known as “parvo”, canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV), first appeared in dogs in Europe around 1976. Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2) is a highly contagious infectious agent that causes gastroenteritis in dogs. Symptoms often associated with CPV include lethargy, depression, and loss or lack of appetite, followed by sudden onset of high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. One of the most important ways to diagnose the disease is serological tests and molecular tests such as PCR. Serological tests are usually based on antigen and antibody detection and must be done at the right time to show accurate results, while molecular tests with More accuracy and sensitivity has the ability to detect the presence of the virus at the time of sampling. IPA’s Parvovirus detection kit is based on the ultra-sensitive nested PCR method on the protected region of the Canine parvovirus genome, which also has the ability to detect the virus at a very low load.
